Letter to our dear Terrorists

Dear Terrorist,

Even if you are not reading this we don't care. Time and again you tried to disturb us and disrupt our life - killing innocent civilians by planting bombs in trains, buses and cars. You have tried hard to bring death and destruction, cause panic and fear and create communal disharmony but everytime you were disgustingly unsuccessful.

Do you know how we pass our life in Mumbai? How much it takes for us to earn that single rupee? If you wanted to give us a shock then we are sorry to say that you failed miserably in your ulterior motives. Better look elsewere, not here.

We are not Hindus and Muslims or Gujaratis and Marathis or Punjabis and Bengaliies. Nor do we distinguish ourselves as owners or workers, govt. employees or private employees. WE ARE MUMBAIKERS (Bombay-ites, if you like).

We will not allow you to disrupt our life like this. On the last few occassions when you struck (including the 7 deadly blasts in a single day killing over 250 people and injuring 500+ in 1993), we went to work next day in full strength.

This time we cleared everything within a few hours and were back to normal - the vendors placing their next order, businessmen finalizing the next deals and the office workers rushing to catch the next train. (Yes the same train you targetted) Fathom this: Within 3 hours of the blasts, long queues of blood donating volunteers were seen outside various hospital, where most of the injured were admitted. By 12 midnight, the hospital had to issue a notification that blood banks were full and they didn't require any more blood. The next day, attendance at schools and office was close to 100%, trains & buses were packed to the brim, the crowds were back. The city has simply dusted itself off and moved on - perhaps with greater vigour.

We are Mumbaikers and we live like brothers in times like this. So, do not dare to threaten us with your crackers. The spirit of Mumbai is very strong and can not be harmed. Please forward this to others. U never know, by chance it may come to hands of a terrorist in Afghanistan, Pakistan or Iraq and he can then read this message which is specially meant for him!!!

With Love,
From the people of Mumbai (Bombay)

A Strange Story by O'Henry

In the northern part of Austin there once dwelt an honest family by the name of Smothers. The family consisted of John Smothers, his wife, himself, their little daughter, five years of age and her parents, making six people toward the population of the city when counted for a special write-up, but only three by actual count.

One night after supper the little girl was seized with a severe colic, and John Smothers hurried downtown to get some medicine.

He never came back.

The little girl recovered and in time grew up to womanhood.

The mother grieved very much over her husband’s disappearance, and it was nearly three months before she married again, and moved to San Antanio.

The little girl also married in time, and after a few years had rolled around, she also had a little girl five years of age.

She still lived in the same house where they dwelt when her father had left and never returned.

One night by a remarkable coincidence her little girl was taken with cramp colic on the anniversary of the disappearance of John Smothers, who would now have been her grandfather if he had been alive and had a steady job.

“I’ll go downtown and get some medicine for her,” said John Smith ( for it was none other than he whom she had married).

“No, no dear John”, cried his wife. “You, too, might disappear forever, and then forget to come back.”

So John Smith did not go and together they sat by the beside of little Pansy (for that was Pansy’s name).

After a little Pansy seemed to grow worse, and John Smith again attempted to go for medicine, but his wife would not let him.

Suddenly the door opened, and an old man, snooped and bent, with long white hair, entered the room.

“Hello, here is grandpa,” said Pansy. She had recognized him before any of he others.

The old man drew a bottle of medicine from his pocket and gave Pansy a spoonful.

She got well immediately.

“I was a little late”, said John Smothers, “as I waited for a street car”.

Do you know about floating stone..

Will stone float? If yes is your answer then read the first matter. If your answer is no then read the second matter.

First Matter: (Ramayanam sollum kadhai)..

When Sri Raman tried to built the bridge from Rameshwaram to Srilanka, he couldnt fill the path with stones and sand.. He also tried built an arrow bridge using his bow and arrow. But that was not enough strengthy to carry people and vaanara force.. Rama sat with distress.. Hanuman took a stone and wrote "SriRam" in that stone and threw it into sea.. He got that the thrown stone is floating over the sea water.. Immediately he sprang in joy and started writing "SriRam" in every stone and threw into the sea and built a floating bridge for Lanka... (Ippa namma Army ellam floating bridge katturaangalla, andha idea enga irundhu kedachudhunnu ippa puriudhaaaa...)

Second Matter: (Naan paathu therinjikkittadhu)...

I read the above matter in a magazine.. In that magazine it was given that some pieces of those floating stone are still exist in Rameshwaram.. I went to Rameshwaram 2 months before and went to that particular place where the floating stone exist.. After being there I found that those floating stone is not a real stone. It is some kind of shell or calcium deposit over a kind of sea plant.. But it is really floating and looks like a stone floating...
